Terry Black, principal of Montrose Elementary School in Bexley, Ohio, explains why his school chose Literacy Collaborative. Principal Black points out that because Literacy Collaborative is a comprehensive K-6 school-reform model, teachers and students do not need to relearn different approaches to learning literacy skills each year. Students’ long-term improvement of literacy skills through the Literacy Colaborative model is just as important as raising standardized test scores.
